London Fashion Week is here and on Saturday I had the opportunity to work on the Julien Macdonald AW17 collection show! I went along to Goldsmith's Hall by St Pauls where the show was being held. The location was beautiful with such a vintage but luxurious feel to its interior. From the red carpets to the large chandeliers, it had a real old manor feel to it.
There were 40 looks in total and what felt like 400 people backstage all helping to make sure the show was a success and ran smoothly. After bringing each look carefully into the dressing area, we were assigned to a look. I was fortunate enough to be assigned to Winnie Harlow who was closing the whole show.
After hair and make up was done, there was a very quick run through with just heels and a dressing gown before it was time to get the models changed and into their running order. Meanwhile dresses were being pulled of off the rails and taken in all directions for last minute alterations. Winnie was so friendly and really professional. Once we had got the dress on, she was quickly sewn into it, shoes were on and she was off again!
Backstage was complete chaos and then all of a sudden the show had started and a calm, excited mood resurfaced. The show was so fun to work on and definitely one to remember!
